Free concerts kick off in Doylestown Borough

Posted

“Concerts at the Commons” returns every Thursday in May to Broad Commons Park between Atkinson Drive and Doyle Street in the Doylestown Borough. Complete with food trucks, games, and beverage stations, the former PennDot site transforms into a weekly amphitheater for all ages to enjoy free live music.

Headlining night one is acclaimed songwriter Sug Daniels. The Philadelphia native thoughtfully combines elements of folk, rock, and soul to create personal and tender music interlaced with messages of truth and positive change. She will be joined by anthemic vocalist and songwriter, Clover Stieve of Frenchtown, NJ.

Surprise guests for night two on May 14 will be announced later this month. However, opening the night will be Doylestown's own spacey jazz fusion trio Colacore. Hailing from Upstate New York, folk rockers Driftwood headline night three with Katelynn Capser of Serene Green kicking off the show.

Exciting rock quartet Fat Mezz closes out the spring concerts on May 28 with special guests Hay Sugar of Doylestown. The series then continues in September.

Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chair or blanket to this pet-friendly, free concert event. Neshaminy Creek Brewing Co. and Main Street Sport & Social will be providing beverages, with a complete list of food trucks coming soon. Attending the concerts is made easy with the Bucks County Parking Garage just feet away.

Bucks County based live music nonprofit, Stage United, produces these concerts in collaboration with the Doylestown Borough. "As a lifelong Bucks County resident, it is an honor to produce “Concerts at the Commons” alongside the Doylestown Borough,” says Montone. “We are so excited to feature FOUR nights of live music for all ages with a dynamic palate of sounds each night."

Since its founding in 2024, Stage United has impacted the region’s live music ecosystem by creating a fundraising model to produce both intimate performances and large-scale community concerts in Bucks County. Montone is a lifelong Bucks native and introduces artists and audiences filling a cultural void as there is hardly any original music programming for all ages in the area.

For more information about “Concerts at the Commons”, visit stageunited.org. The grounds open at 6 pm with music starting at 6:50 pm. There is no admission fee. The series is supported by Fred Beans Automotive Group, C&N Bank, The Monkey's Uncle, and The Lisa Povlow Team, Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty. Broad Commons Park is located at 10 Doyle St. in Doylestown.
