Op-ed: Salute to our veterans on their 250th

Posted

Welcome to the Veterans Breakfast for army, navy, airforce, marines and other veteran organizations to Chick-fil- A in Warminster. We veterans were greeted by the American flag and a welcome poster arranged by manager Krista on Friday, May 8 at 9 am.

The Chick-fil-A hospitality manager Jeff, an ex-marine, commenced this exciting Veterans Breakfast with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to our flag. This was followed by serving hot coffee, tea, or other requested beverages. The waitresses efficiently catered to each veteran’s breakfast table with speed, courtesy, and respect.

The wonderful comradery between these veterans, their spouses, family, or guests seemed endless, and full of their war stories of their service to our country, their laughter about stupid pranks or mistakes they made, and descriptions of places, history, and other interesting VFW topics.

The breakfast atmosphere was full of voices, laughter, and applause.

During the breakfast Krista and Jeff stopped at each table to welcome the veterans and to thank each of them personally for their service to our country. Josh McGrory and Jen, his wife, owners of Chick-fil-A, surprised us with their appearance. Josh, also an ex-marine, enlightened us with his speech about Chick-fil-A contributions, scholarships, and their sincere appreciation of our veteran's service to our great country.

Following breakfast, Krista entertained the audience with a quiz contest! A prize was given to the contestant that could guess the correct answer to her questions.

PS: All veterans are welcome to these breakfasts. And I will personally assist all Wounded Warriors that need help.

Thank you and best regards,

James Herman, US Army Veteran
