The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board is celebrating the fifth anniversary of Montco Jazz Fest, a six-day celebration of music taking place throughout Montgomery County.

Set for Sept. 15 to 20 and curated for the fourth consecutive year by jazz vocalist and Artistic Director Joanna Pascale, this year’s festival features more than 30 performances and special events showcasing acclaimed national artists alongside the region's creative community. Concerts and experiences will be held at parks, restaurants, theaters, breweries, galleries, and other venues, with a full schedule available now online.

“This year's festival brings together celebrated musicians and rising talent for a week that honors the past while celebrating the future of jazz,” says Rachel Riley, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, VFTCB. “Whether you've been with us since the beginning or you're joining us for the first time, there's never been a better time to experience the magic of Montco Jazz Fest.”

New this year, Montco Jazz Fest is partnering with Montgomery County Parks and Recreation to present a series of free outdoor concerts. The festival is also expanding its footprint through a new collaboration with Eataly at the King of Prussia Mall, where guests can enjoy complimentary jazz performances throughout the festival, as well as a special Friday Vocal Series leading up to opening week.

Programming spans a wide range of styles and experiences, from big band performances and swing dancing to intimate club sets, family-friendly events, and film screenings.

Highlights include tributes celebrating the centennial birthdays of music legends Tony Bennett, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Jimmy Heath, as well as the 100th anniversary of the West Chester University Criterions Jazz Ensemble.

Additional highlights include the annual Swing Social, the Junior Jazz Festival at Elmwood Park Zoo, screenings of the film 'Jazz on a Summer's Day' and Pixar's 'Soul', and performances benefiting Jazz Bridge, an organization supporting local jazz and blues musicians.

Festival attendees are also encouraged to explore Montgomery County's unique arts scene through the free, mobile-friendly ArtsMontco Pass. The self-guided program features more than 30 arts and cultural destinations—including museums, galleries, theaters, music venues, and artist studios—and visitors are able to earn points and unlock prizes while utilizing the app.

“This milestone festival shines a spotlight on the 100th birthdays of jazz icons including Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Tony Bennett, and other legendary artists whose music continues to inspire generations,” adds Pascale. “From intimate listening rooms to vibrant community venues, audiences can experience an exciting lineup of performances in diverse locations across the county.”
